Trentino is located in the north east of Italy in between the regions of Veneto and Lombardy and bordering Austria. The region of Trentino is characterised by the vast differences in climate, ranging from Mediterranean to continental to Alpine. Its situation between the Padana plain and the Alps gives it a unique micro-climate, with a deeply variable range of temperatures. Trentino is remarkably well preserved from an environmental point of view, with wonderful natural resources such as woods and rivers as well as old towns, rich in history and art.
The vineyards of Trentino really are totally unique, completely reflecting the dramatic natural backdrop where they are cultivated. The resulting wines express the terroir of the vineyards, be they on the valley floor, or 800 metres above sea level. The wide range in temperature between day and night is particularly beneficial for white wines, making them some of the most pure and fresh wines in the whole of Italy.
